Re: Oil and spark plug question.

Yeah, the Champions are about a buck cheaper at like NAPA or Advance than the dealer. The Back Passenger side plug isn't too bad if you have enough extensions and a swivel or two, I was able to do them for the first time pretty easily a few months ago.

Re: Oil and spark plug question.

eh, I don't think that you should cheap out when it comes to something so essential to the motor as oil.

Re: Oil and spark plug question.

Best filters from what I have been reading have been WIX/Napa Gold line and Mobile 1 (without having to order one)

Just stay away from fram. I feel bad about my past cars since my dad and myself have always picked them up. Didn't think how well they were constructed...or i should say how bad they are constructed. ( this excludes the top shelf fram filter )

Re: Oil and spark plug question.

The dealer here was cheaper for plugs. Oil was a b**ch though. 78! Oddly enough you guys seem to use 5w30, but the dealership here told me they use 5w40. What's the difference if any?

Do you live in a warm part of Australia? In some cases its better to use a higher weight in higher temps, while if you live in a really cold climate you would be better off with a lower one. 5W30 seems to be right in the middle so I assume thats why Jeep recommends it, i'd use 5W30 since thats what Chrysler says to use, I think its even stamped on the oil cap? I guess if they found out you were using a different oil than suggested and something went wrong with the engine you could run into warranty issues?

Haha yeah I don't know how I missed that he even has the flag pic. I'd go with 5w30.
