Here's the combo: AutoZone & Advance Auto have sales with 5-qts of Castrol Syntec 5W-20 and Mobil-1 or K&N oil filter for $29.95. Then, go to Wally World and buy a 5-qt jug of Castrol Syntec 5W-20 for $21.00.

You need 7-7.5 qts, so there is oil available for makeup in-between oil changes and half of the amount required for the next oil change.

My HEMI likes the Castrol Syntec 5W-20 (uses less oil and the HEMI tick has diminished greatly). The 1" nut on the end of the K&N filter makes removal a breeze.

Re: Oil change question

Valvoline synpower is higher rated than Castrol and Mobil 1' Mobil 1 formulation is not what it use to be. I replaced RP with Synpower and it runs smoother and dont feel the mds like with RP. Make sure to get a GOOD oil filter too; i.e. NOT FRAM.

Do you notice a diff in your tires having nitrogen in them? I was thinkin about doin it too...
Must be nice $8.99 a quart.I have to run special oil in my GC 3.0 deisel and the only place I can buy it in Canada is at the dealer for $12.69 a quart. While I have heard you can buy it in the States at must auto part stores for $8.99.It needs 10.5 quarts per oil change that I do at 6250 miles. But when the diesel gives me 28.3 miles per gallon at 78 mile per hour the fuel savings make up for that I guess.I can get Amsoil for $12.89 per qt.I am sticking with the dealers oil for now so they can't weasal out of a warranty claim because of oil I used if it ever comes up.Mobil1 bulk oil dealers can't even get the oil yet up here in Canada.
