Oil question

Well guys had a dumb question! I have a 06 4.7
So when i fill my oil is the full line at the top of the safe
line (or) is the full line where the dip stick bends
just above the full line?
I've asked a few ppl. & got half & half. Some say the top
of the full line, the other half says to the bend just
above the full line. So i'm sooooo confused.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!
Joe

Re: Oil question

When the proper amount of oil is used (6 quarts) in the motor the level should be pretty much at or near the top of the safe line |XXXXSAFEXXXX| as shown in my little diagram to the left there in red. Mine always is. For all practical purposes, just make sure its anywhere in the "safe" area and it will be fine. I run my oil changes every 7500 miles and I never have to top it off, so luckily i burn virtually no oil off. You should be worrying if its burning off and you are running the motor below the safe level.
