OME HD and 285/70/17.. Will it work?

I am getting ready to put on an OME HD lift. I am searching for tires and what will work. I was looking at the Toyo Open Country MT in a 265/70/17 since that seems to be the most popular size people are running. Toyo doesn't make a 285/70/17 in the Open County MT, but the new Nitto Trail Grappler does come in a 285/70/17 (33.15x11.80).

Is anyone using this combo and what issues might I see (other than pinch weld)

I will be using AEV Pintlers with a +10 offset.

Thanks!

Re: OME HD and 285/70/17.. Will it work?

It'll work. Just pinch weld and the headache of wheel spacers.

You you might rub the outer wheel well when you bottom out "if" you do any offroading.

That's the best tire size for the WK in my opinion.

Thats a huge boy. That will for sure effect your mpg. You might have to look into bump stops to prevent the bumping out. That just sounds like a massive tire to me I got 235 on my guy right now. wow little guys huh

You can make the bumps stops with PVC and longer bolts.

I currently don't have any bump stops at all on the rear of my WK.

Re: OME HD and 285/70/17.. Will it work?

i would definitely do the bumpstops with a 285/33.. i think the 265/70 or a 275 fits great with just the OME HD. i think with a 285 you would want to add a spacer on top of the OME lift, like mrtosh did and nate (omelet on JF)

Re: OME HD and 285/70/17.. Will it work?

I'm just saying he can run 285's with just the OME if he wants. Lifted_Up did and had no problems wheeling offroad from what I've seen and heard.

If I could do it all over again, I probably would have bought 285 KM2's.
