Outside Temp gauge is stuck

Anyone have any experience with the outside temperature gauge sticking on my 2009 GC Laredo . Its tell me its like 41f outside and its up around 60f. Is there anyway to reset that without taking it into the shop?

mine does that ever once in a while.

has it been stuck long?

you could try a reset; discnnect neg terminal and step on brake for 30 seconds to discharge. then reconnect and see what happens.

Mine used to do that too, there is an update for the FCM (Front Control Module) the stealer can upgrade the programming, did it once never needed it again

for the time being you can do what Rob suggested

Mine takes 10-15 minutes after starting to register current temperature - is this normal?

As far as all these dealer updates on the computer, does this cost? or is it a Factory warranted update?

yes that's normal since the FCM updates itself in the system I think the first drive cycles that's when u get the correct reading ... but mine does the same as well

Unfortunately it does cost 1 hour of labor usually $80-100 depending on your dealer, what I did with mine was told them to update the PCM (TCM it's inside PCM but if you have other transmission tell them to update that as well) and FCM with the new software I also had my fogs activated at the same time all for 1 hour so it wasn't that bad

Re: Outside Temp gauge is stuck

Thanks guys!!

Being its still under warranty, I'll run it by the dealership and let them deal with it. I really hope this is just a fluke. I hate buying a used vehicle and have stuff start going wrong.

Re: Outside Temp gauge is stuck

Of course I pop in it this morning the the Temp gauge is reading something different. We'll see if it changes throughout the day.

Re: Outside Temp gauge is stuck

This is quite normal for the WKs I think.
Everyone I know that owns one has this issue.
Happens to me all the time.

It will get stuck for 4 hours then be fine for 2 days. It is totally random with my 07 Laredo rocky mountain edition.
Not a big deal, but very annoying!
