PAC C2R-CHY4 Install Help

I've ended up installing the C2R-CHY4 for my Pioneer head unit.

I have followed the instructions religiously, but at no point do they tell you to hook up the 12V Battery Constant (Yellow) to the deck, and the same goes for the Ground (Black). These are the only 2 wires that the deck has unconnected.

Am I right in thinking these have to be connected although the instructions don't say so, or does the Can Interface take care of that for you? (Yellow and Black input to the can interface but do not appear to output to the deck.)

Of course, without these wires connected, the deck has no power at the moment - I just don't want to connect them because the instructions didn't say so. Is the C2R-CHY4 being clever, or not?

Many thanks for any help you can offer...

Hmm, instructions lied to you, lol. Those absolutely need to be connected for anything to work. You can't have power without a power wire, and you can't have power without a ground wire.

I'm assuming you spliced into the wiring, correct?

The accessory wire is connected from the harness to the pioneer directly, and the yellow constant and black ground are taken to the Can interface, but I don't think they exit to the deck, unless the can interface does some weird clever thing - that was my question really.

So, Yellow Constant and Black Ground, directly from Harness to Deck then, right?

Instructions are here: http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductD...ons_060809.pdf

Hmm, honestly, I have no idea. I've never used the harness, so I probably won't be able to help. Hopefully someone who has will chime in soon.

All sorted thanks Red, Yellow and Black must be connected directly from the harness to the new radio, and the Can interface does its own thing...
