Peg Leg Burnout?

Hey guys just a quick question....I did a burnout in my jeep a couple days ago and noticed that only 1 tire was spinning. Ive heard that it has something to do with not having a limited slip (whats that)?? not a big deal just wanted to know why it does that.

Thanks guys!

btw i know doing a burnout isnt too good for your engine but I've only burned out a couple times

Re: Peg Leg Burnout?

Limited Slip Differential. It means when one wheel starts slipping, its give more power to that wheel. Non limited slip is when one wheel gets stuck, all power pretty much goes to another wheel.

Its good to have LSD. To find out, put the truck in neutral once its on jacks and spin one of the tires. If the opposite tire spins in the same direction you have LSD... if it spins backwards then you dont.

Actually LSD would send power to the wheel that's not slipping. Also the wheel check is not really accurate. For a locker sure, but not the case for LSD.

It's worse for your tires. Have you priced a set of new tires lately?

LOL,I'm sure there are plenty who don't roast em on a regular basis. As far as engine goes you won't do much harm to your motor unless you pegging the limiter which doesn't seem likely. Your more likely to put wear on your drive train and rear end before anything and of course tyres!

great video for first timers!
