I just installed a Fastman ported TB and boy what a difference it made. My 3.7 V6 jeep feels like it has more low end power and it doesn't seem to have any lag in acceleration anymore. I think that either Fastman or Flyin Ryan ported throttle bodies are worth every dime for the amount of performance gain you get.
He already has the used cores and once you order one he ports it and ships it the next day so your jeep doesn't have any downtime, you can still send him yours if you dont mind the downtime and waiting for a few days to get it back.I would email him or give him a call if your interested in a used ported core, because his site doesn't have an option for ordering a used one.
Go ahead an do it:thumbsup:, you'll be amazed at how much the driveability has improved. Ive noticed I don't have anymore lag in acceleration around town and it really gets up and goes at WOT, Im not sure on mpg yet but the evic says im getting 18 mpg around town-will have to evaluate when I fill up again.I can tell the little v6 isn't working as hard now and with all the mods Ive done my WK is starting to feel like it has the power of the 4.7 v8 in my old 99 WJ.
Current engine mods in order:
K&N 63 Series CAI
Magnaflow 12286 muffler
Airram Powerwire
Castrol Syntec 5w20 synthetic oil
Ported throttlebody by Fastman
can someone chime in on how exactly to reset the ecu. i installed my ported tb last week and the install was super easy but something wasn't right, i had a ton of problems (long throttle delay, seemed to perform worse than stock, and the throttle would pulsate, at one point my jeep excelled on its own and luckily i had my foot on the brake). so naturally after installing it and reinstalling it to make sure everything was done correctly i took it back out and put the stock one back in, everything was back to normal...bad tb? or does the ecu need reset?
Yes you need to unhook your battery and press the brake pedal a few times and let it sit a few minutes to reset the computer, then hook the battery back up and then take it for a test drive, the throttle should be nice and smooth, if it acts like it was before then there may be something wrong with that throttle body. Good Luck.
