Possessed Power windows!!!

I did a quick search and cannot find anything so heres hoping someone can help. I bought the Jeep in December, and other than the trans not locking up without some fancy footwork I have not had a lick of trouble till last Friday. Tried to go to work and it just barely clicked. All the lights and gauges worked fine. However at some point when I was trying to start it, it must have gone dead enough to reset the trip computers and all that jazz. I had to put the charger on it for about 10 minutes for it to crank over. It has started perfect since. HOWEVER!!! Now the windows wont roll up. Well actually they will go up, then they reverse and go a bit past half way down. The only way to get them to stay up is to roll em up, the quickly turn the key off and open the door. Also some times the wipers will sweep once when I start it. I turned off the auto wipers and really cannot understand the stupid windows. I guess I can try disconnecting the battery? Is it going bad and causing them to freak out? I am really getting frustrated... As Larry the Cable Guy says, More Frustrated than a legless ethiopian watching a donut roll down the hill...

HELP!!!!

i have heard of the window issue. i think that if you take it into the stealership they can do an update or something that would fix it if i remember. I see no problem with disconnecting your battery, but i don't think that'll fix anything.

Are you using the auto up feature? if it is equiped with it it is two clicks in the button. Try just pulling up on the switch so that your in the first click. When i installed my rain guards it would do the same thing because it was registering something in the way. Im pretty sure i have read something about calibrating the windows because i know you can calibrate the sun roof. So maybe the computer is thinking the window should go up more but its making out so it sends it back down. Calibration was just holding a few buttons if i remember right but dont remember what it is

^^ yea I have the same issue once in a while cuz of the rain guards! To reset the windows do the following...

Click the front 2 windows all the way down. When they're down, continue to hold them down for 3 seconds. Then pull up and when they're all the way up, same thing, hold em there for 3 seconds. And that's all she wrote. Try it out n lemme know if that helps

PS: If your battery is bye bye, the windows will DEF act up. I just had the same thing and replaced my battery and no more issues...

The guy at the dealer recently showed me that if you hold the button down for 60 seconds (ignition on, engine off) and then hold the button up for 60 seconds right after....it re-calibrates the window control module.

Who knows if it really works.

This worked like a charm!!!! Thanks gregums79 and everyone else!!! All these fancy things make me crazy!!! I am sure that I could have spent hundreds for the damn dealership to roll the windows down and up.. If only I could get the stupid tranny to lock up when it should..

Gregum I have another thread from January but never got far. The issue is, when you get up on the highway even a long backroad the torque converter never locks up. I live in Eastern Kansas, there are rolling hills but most of our roads have been blasted flat. So I ge out on the highway, get up to 60 or 65. I will be taching around 2400 RPM. Even if I turn on the cruise I will have the same engine speed. Now if I put my foot on the accelerator, and make it speed up maybe 2 or 3 MPH then just let off it will noticeably lock up. The RPM will drop to 1900 to 2000! No matter what speed it is it doesn't lock up. I can be driving 70 or 60 and the engine is reving the same.
Of course the stupid Thieving Stealership I bought it from says there is nothing wrong. Their answer even after I showed them the issue was "No Code = No Problem." I cannot imagine Jeep would have a vehicle this expensive, and not have the converter lock up....

I know there is a difference, my wife drives it back and fort to work, getting about 14.5 mpg. I drive almost the exact same drive, except I have traffic and I pull 16+ sometimes 17mpg. There has to be something wrong...

If anyone is buying a Dodge or Jeep in the Kansas City area I will tell them my story. I have a partially written email to the salesman, he was good, about the fact that I will be making sure none of my friends or family buy from them. A $40k truck should last more than 3 years... This is me showin my red a$$ to that dealer!!! LOL!

no code can mean problem sometimes. I had a 99 dakota where when you were driving down the highway and let off the gas it would downshift from 4th to 3rd. It took a year of driving it before it finally threw a code. WTF a year of driving to finally confirm that it was the shift solenoid sensor. If the stealership wont listen try finding a tranny ship and just talking to them. I live in Northern NJ and i wouldnt let the jeep stealership work on my ride becasue of the horror stories ive heard on how lazy and crappy work the do.
