A/C compressor bolts snapped while driving

Got about a mile down the road from home and heard a weird noise and see a bolt sliding across the street behind me. Backed up, picked it up, and thought, "I wonder what this went to?" Started going forward and realized my steering was hard.

Stopped and popped the hood and saw my pump just danging there.

Got it home and took this pick.

I've never seen one do this before!!!!!

EDIT: after further investigation, it's my A/C compressor mounting bolts that snapped. Well... 2 of them did and found a third on top of my skid plate (which wasn't there before because I've had the skid plate off recently).

Looks like I'm going to have to invest in some kind of bolt extracting kit to get what's left of them out.

Re: Power steering bolts snapped while driving

WOW, sounds like they just backed loose. do you know if they (P/S pump and A/C compressor) where replaced at one point? if so, they may not have been properly tightened. I just cant see that happening to 2 separate components at the same time...
