Re: Quad projectors

we can help with wiring.

have you bought 4 HID ballasts and bulbs?
4 relay harnesses?
the switch to turn the 2 inner LO on/off?
also connect the blade wiring on each side. and then get 2 connectors that work with the OEM hi-beam plugs?
all can be had at retrofitsource.

Re: Quad projectors

Do it just as Rob said! That is how I will be wiring mine up whenever that day arrives Still waiting on a new bumper/fender so until I get that ordeal situated it may be a little. But 4 foreword lights is the norm in most states I believe. And having the factory low beam position operated by the factory switch on the lever is ideal. Then an external switch on a factory relay will give you complete control over the high beam projector. So 4 lows and 4 highs as well as 2 lows and 2 highs at any time is what you want. Gives you FULL range over what lights you want and when you want it

It costs an extra $5-$10 and you can install a second switch, so you can run inner's only if you want. Just a thought...

oh, my bad. I thought you only had the option of turning your inners on if you had your outers already on. I installed two switches because my headlights were still receiving 10.x volts after they where turned back off. IE: If I never turned my headlights on from the vehicle's startup, the headlights would receive 0volts. If I turned them on, they'd receive 12.x+ volts. If I turned them off, they'd have 10.x volts. This was enough to power my relay harnesses and THUS, I could not turn the lights off without two switches. You either wired yours differently (aka correctly and I did mine wrong) or you have different relays or ballasts? Dunno. Sorry for the confusion though.

EDIT: I think I know the reason now... I have mine setup to where I cannot turn them on unless my OEM low beams are turned on. I think you have yours setup to the switch alone. So you probably don't require your OEM low beams to be turned on in order for you to be able to flip your switch and have your lights on. Your way > my way.

EDIT AGAIN: Do you run day time running lights on your vehicle?

I have 4 relays ballast and bulbs through TRC. im not sure about the switch. TRC said that they were sending me all the i needed for my retrofit. Going to try to install the rest today.l Have to put a hurry on it now. The Military Police said they were going to tow my car because it can not be disassembled in a proking spot longer than 90 minutes. How lame i hate MP's

Re: Quad projectors

here is my wiring diagram: bottom left is where I added a switch after the original install. that switch enables me to just run the 2 outers as low beams then if I want, i turn the sw on and i now have 4 lo beams.

ONE NOTE: while it looks like I only have 2 relays i have 4. however I combined the power wore and gropund wire for each pair or relays to simplify things so the other 2 are trnsparent in this diagram.

let me know if you have questions/

Re: Quad projectors

Simple.

So pretty much you're simply adding a switch for high beam as you would for aftermarket fog lights???

Allowing you to have them ON at the same time with the lows???

And completely ignoring the OEM high beam switch on the multifunction switch???

Re: Quad projectors

no.

i am using ALL OEM triggers. the ONLY thing the swuitch does is allow power to the 2 inner projectors.

my HIGH BEAM BLADES are connected to each other and the high beam wire on each side. my low beam oem wires are the triggers for all 4 relays.
