With that what you just wrote, your dealer did not maintain them properly. Either wrong fluid was used or not enough fluid otherwise bearings will not be destroyed.

Nope, the dealer is an excellent 4 star Jeep dealer, and all records show the maintenance was done at exactly the recommended intervals, with the correct fluid and the friction modifier, and the capacity was full. QDII diffs are well known to have such problems, and if you search other Jeep WK forums there are many others with the same issues.
