Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

have a 2005 grand i was going to put 24" wheels on it but where im located the roads are really bad.
my question is
what size 22" are you running meaning

1)whats the pattern?
2)whats the offset?
3)how wide is the rim?
4)what size tires are you running?

i talked a great guy on here about his 24" wheels and got a lot of info about those but the more im thinking about my roads makes me scared to spend the money and bent or crack the wheel with only a 30 series tire on it.if i could do a 24" with a 35 series i would do that.

any help would be great.
thank you!

Re: Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

During the summer, I run my 22x9.5 Diablo G-force wheels. I also went with a 265/40/22 tire as we have some sketchy roads in spots as well. I have no rubbing issues at all with the 40 series tire and the ride is great.

I think our bolt pattern is 5x5 or 5x125 and I am unsure of the offset on my wheels.

hope that helps!

Re: Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

I'm sure if you cut the bolt you could fit a 295/30/24 instead of the 275/30/24 that i'm running. right now when my rims are on I can barely get my finger between the bolt and the tire. i think the bolt might give you another inch of clearance but not sure if you can fit a 35 series tire.

but to answer your questions on 22s
1. 5x5(5x127)
2. offset needs to be high around +35
3. i think the rim needs to be either 9 or 9.5 wide. i dont believe a 10" wide rim fits in the front.
4. i had a 265/40 on my 22s but you can also run a 265/35 on there

before i got my 24s i was scared about the roads too, but I drove them the whole summer here in michigan and was fine. Michigan roads are bad too. So if you got 24s and just avoided potholes you should be fine with the tire that i am running.

hope this helps

Re: Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

yeah yur the guy i was talking about that really helped me alot about the info for a 24" wheel.the only hting is i tryed to look up your wheel in a 22" and i dont see them anywheres with that offset.thats why i was wondering about the 22".i dont want to order the 24" wheel with a 35 series tire cut the biolt and notice then it doesnt fit.that would really suck.it funny 2 weeks ago i was watching the news and they did a poll on the roads and PA is the worse roads in the united states.THATS CRAZY where does my tax money go?
also i will be trailering my enclosed trailer and jetski so once in a while the back wheels will be going in lakes to back up to unload the jetski.
i need to make up my mind before spring time...

Re: Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

I have 22s. I was like you i wanted to go with 24s but i live in the country (not in the city) so the roads are a little rough. So i went with the 22s.

22s
5x5 (5x127)
offset +35
Rim 9.5 (front & rear)
Tire size 265/35/22

Never had any rubs. Plus with 22s you might get better gas mileage, maybe a little more HP than the 24s. Make sure you keep your fatory one's for winter. GL with whatever you go with 22s or 24s the both look great.

Re: Question about 22" wheels for my jeep

^^^^ That's a great deal $1860.00 for tire's & rim's.
I paid $2500.00 with tire's (the same tire sunny sn-3980) had those tire's for 2 years still have alot of tread left. (but i don't use them in the winter)
Got mine from rent-n-roll & they didn't come with the tpms.
Pretty sure the offset was +35 But i might be wrong. I hav the dakar wheels. GL buddy
