Quiet exhaust for the 5.7?

Does anybody make an exhaust for the 5.7 that'll give more power or better fuel efficiency and keep the same loudness as the stock exhaust or make the vehicle even quieter? Thanks.

IMO the stock exhaust was designed to combine the best efficiency and noise level.... if you want any more on either side of the table you have to give up something.

I was hoping that wasn't the case, but I figured it was. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Quiet exhaust for the 5.7?

Not everyone wants an annoying "red neck" sounding exhaust. Not that the GC has a loud exhaust or anything but everyone is different.

i think exhaust systems sound good, not "redneck", although that is funny to me

Re: Quiet exhaust for the 5.7?

I think exhaust systems (on large engines) sound badass and I'd love to have the ability to turn it up and down, but I don't, so I'm opting for the quieter exhaust... which also happens to be free since it's the stock one

Re: Quiet exhaust for the 5.7?

You should look at the new Dynomax VT series mufflers. They use a spring loaded valve that stays closed at low rpm and throttle (2 db quieter than a stock muffler) but open up at higher throttle position and rpm, not super loud but noticably louder than stock. Kind of the best of both worlds.

I really like my Magnaflow cat back. The other day I remote started it and as I walked up to it I thought it wasnt running!

It is really quiet at highway speeds. Not annoying driving around town, but has a slight rumble. Step on the gas and it makes some noise, but not like a redneck ride at all! Its just a nice smooth rumble.
