radiator will not drain

I went to drain, flush and refill my radiator today and when I opened the drain cock, the coolant will not come out. I even cracked the rad. cap, purge plug and res. tank cap. Any suggestions?

Nope. Filled to correct level. Operating perfect. The end of last summer I had to replace my water pump and added about 2qts of 50/50 coolant/water. I added Prestone coolant for any color. I picked up 2 gallons of HOAT coolant last week, to get it all back to stock. But, nothing will come out.

Re: radiator will not drain

may have some sediment. WJ? WK? WHAT? Hoat leads me to believe WK.

you might try getting some out the top with a siphon and try a hose in rad to see you could get the sediment out. or maybe a spirited drive with the heat blowing to get some circulation going. im not familiar with wk petcock exactly but does it turn at all and nothing comes out, or you cant budge it?

Re: radiator will not drain

Grab a little piece of wire and give it a poke in there with the drain out. It's probably just blocked. Pretty common.
