Re: Rear cargo space bottom

Nice job...I would do something like this but my amp sits under the tray so it stays for the time being

I don't doubt it. It's crazy what you think is such a small can really be once you remove that floor.

You've got me thinking about trying something with my stereo, LOL, damn you!

Re: Rear cargo space bottom

I'm trying to come up with a way to be able to carry my spare in the cargo area (since it won't fit underneath anymore) and keep my 2 12's. I'm kind of thinking removing the floor like you did, putting the tire in there, and then building some kind of floor over it with a hinged door so I can still retrieve the spare, and build some kind of box that takes up as little room as possible for my subs, and then mount the amp somewhere.

Re: Rear cargo space bottom

Seems like a great idea! I've been wanting subs but I use the back for delivering trees as I work at a nursery. Only other option I've considered is buidling a rack to mount to the interior roof but that would be one hell of a project.

Yeah, thats one of the reasons I did this, I was curious about mounting my spare to the rear side of the cargo area like the old cherokees used to have. It wouldnt be much to pop that side panel out and make some sort of mount on it, I already had all that molding out when I did the dynamat anyways. I wanted to open up my exhaust options as with the towing package I already have the bumper opening for an srt8 style twin tip.

Re: Rear cargo space bottom

Call me crazy...but why would you want to put the spare into the rear cargo area? Keep it out of the elements? I just want as much space in the rear cargo area so I like the idea of removing the tray...cause it seems like that floor takes up more area than I think...
