rear licence plate lighting

Are the rear licence plate lamps always difficult to remove! The covers came off easily but the lamps are stuck in the housings.
Are these wedge type capless lamps, I only want to replace them with led lamps

They are a bit tough to get out - I had to use needle nose pliers... use light pressure though! I got one out OK when I changed mine and then the other broke but I was still able to pull out the remains with the pliers.

IIRC they are normal 168/194 bulbs - you should be able to see them if you take the covers off and look up in there.

This is what it looks like with the LED, I think I used 5K color:

Mine came out no probs. Aye they're just wedge type bulbs
