So yesterday I went to start my jeep via OEM remote start, and it wouldn't work until i was damn near on top of my jeep "10' away" even the unlock/lock wouldn't work. Then I hoped in and the EVIC told me I need a oil change which is bull shit. I changed the oil 400 miles ago. So I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes to let every thing reset and changed the battery in my key. and nothing... has this happened to any one? do you think any of this related?
09 oil change is supposedly based on your driving. not to say something may be wrong if it came on with 400 miles. there is some Wireless Control Mod that could have gone whacky. looks like stealer time.
ah, so it's like the newer hondas measuring the oil quality.... hmm, that's weird then. The hondas have a percentage instead of miles to service... I wonder if that 09 is saying something else other than "change my oil!"
battery in the remote maybe? Can you repeat the behavior with both remotes???
I'd guess it's related to radio interference. I know at a mall by my house, my remote does not work, period. Came out to an unlocked car the first time. When I lock it from inside the door, I have to use the key and stop the alarm when I come back out.
