Replacing Front Diff Mount/Bushings OEM or OEM Spec?

I'm going to be replacing the 2 bushings on the front diff and the bracket that holds the front of the front diff up. I've found some OEM spec parts for a little bit cheaper. Think its worth it to go with the aftermarket OEM here or get the real Mopar OEM parts?

If you're gonna do the time & work, you might as well not get cheap with the parts. But I don't know if there is a quality difference between the two. I really want to replace mine, but I heard of one guy replacing his & they failed after 35K. I tried to ask around how everyone else's replacements have been holding up, but no answer.

Where did u find aftermarket bushings? I thought there was 3. One bolted on to the front of the diff. And 2 almost inside the casting on it.

Re: Replacing Front Diff Mount/Bushings OEM or OEM Spec?

I got Crown Bushings and a Crown front Dif Bracket. I can't see them being any worse then the OEM Mopar if not probally better. Qualtiy looks solid on the parts. I wasn't able to find other buhsings that are made of differnet material, like poly ones.

Has anyone used the crown ones at all?

Re: Replacing Front Diff Mount/Bushings OEM or OEM Spec?

We bought our 17-year-old a 2005 WK jeep about six months ago. I got a really good deal on it. But I knew there was a lot of work to be done to get it back to performance level. One of the things I did first was completely rebuilt the front end. New struts, replaced all the ball joints, replaced all the control on bushings.I used XRF ball joints they have a million mile warranty on them. I replaced all the control arm bushings with RAYBESTOS professional grade bushings. I got them from rock auto they had a really good price on them. You have to have all the appropriate tools, because those bushings are pressed in to that control arm. Removing them is not the difficult part, it is getting them back in. One tip or trick that I was taught years ago was to put the new bushings in your freezer overnight it will shrink the metal and makes installing them makes it a lot easier.

Thanks for all your input. I would love to do more front end work but money is a limiting factor and I have a lot of other things that need to be fixed before I can really dig in. Need to do all the front diff bushings and replace the bracket, the CV on the front driveshaft needs to be replaced coming into the transfer case, tranny lines need to be replaced, all dif and t-case fluids changed, new plugs, front pads. I buy the parts and my friend does the work.
