REQ vs. RER Navi???

What do you guys think about the sound quality from the RER Navi radio? I like the idea of having the navi system in the dash, but I really love the way my REQ sounds with the Mopar Kicker speakers and no amp. I am worried that the amplifier built into the RER may not be as good as the REQ, plus I could just as easily buy a Garmin Navi to stick on the windshield when I need a GPS. May be a silly question, but I want to keep my audio stock so I don't lose the steering wheel controls, but I still want it to sound good.

Re: REQ vs. RER Navi???

I just upgraded my 05 from an RAQ to an RER and am very happy with the soundquality. You get to retain the steering wheel controls when you switch to an RER, whether or not you require the adapter harness like I did or not. The UConnect is also an excellent feature to have along with the Sirius satelite radio and the hard drive to store music. You can also buy a mulitmedia harness from online companies for the RER conversion that allow for front or rear cameras to be added or an ipod video input. Usually the harnesses that you need for the RER will come with a lock pick so you can use both the Nav as well as the DVD in motion.

Re: REQ vs. RER Navi???

They make adapters that allow functionality of steering wheel controls with aftermarket radios if that is your only concern.
