Well since I ordered a Matrix today, I am looking at lighting, and was going to run some KC 130w slimline long-range lights, but have been considering the LED options
I saw Jayloop praising the Rigid E-Series LED lightbars, and was looking at Dually and D2 lights. It looks like 2600 lumens and 28w for the D2s, which I have no idea how to compare to KCs. Has anybody used these? I've been searching and watching youtube videos, but it's hard to "see" light output with a camera (same as hear an exhaust on video...it doesn't work).
Also, for bumper height lights, would I want floods or spots? I have a cabin in the Boundary Waters near the Canadian border and the purpose of the lights would be to spot deer and moose in the treelines of a single lane road - travelling at about 50mph.
I just ordered the D2's in a combo pattern which has both 9 and 18 degree light output. I'll see how those look, and if I don't like the output, I'll add 2 more in the wide beam, which is a 30 degree fan.
I'm also considering a 20" SR series bar, depending on how everything looks when its together. Damn you 4xguard...now I just keep spending more money...
I'm with you guys on these lights! I want some. I love my PIAA 520 ATP lights, but LEDs are the future and I want some...especially since I have a Rola being shipped to me as I type. (hehehe)
For now I am considering purchasing 2 Dually flood beams. They have a little wider angle than the D2's. I'd toss these on the outside edges of the Rola. Then at some point get 2 Dually spots in the middle. That seems to be the widest and longest coverage for me.
I'd love an E series light bar as well, but I want a 30" and It's too much money for me for right now. (hood seems better to me than the light bar, esp with all the Duallys! haha)
Anyways, here are some light specs between the Dually and the D2s
There are multiple people on here and the other site running them, they are VERY bright lights, I just dislike how they look on the matrix, to me they look to small even though they are super bright. Ill look for the threads
I agree! My PIAAs are stayin on the Matrix cuz I still love those bad boys, but I want some D2s. I want both wide beam and driving on a Rola roof rack!
Do it!! I just ordered me a pair off amazon for $189 and that ain't bad! Now just gotta figure out how to wire them without drilling into the roof. lol
