I went to rausch creek this weekend and almost tore off my plastic rockers. Can anyone with sliders recommend a company. I want to remove my plastic rocker panels and mount a slider, better clearance than bolting it on under the plastic rocker. Thanks for the info.
Rocky road has about the cheapest bolt on sliders. The next cheapest option is to just make them yourself. It's a pretty easy straightforward process to do that if you are able to weld or have access to someone that knows how to do that. I plan on doing mine next month. I'll try to post a quick write-up on it.

Sorry, just read your post again... 4xguard is the only brand I know of that replaces the rocker and is a skid.
I'm planning on building my own. For the cost of what I've seen out there (over $600!!), I can build something decent myself.
Most of the aftermarket ones run mounting rails to the body frame rails, where they have to be drilled and mounted I think. I'm looking at removing the plastic parts and replacing those with steel channel, bolted into the same mounts in the body. I ~think~ the length of the rails should spread any force of impact out and not deform the body panels. I think. I still need to remove mine and see whats inside there. Waiting for the hot summer to pass. Winter is play time here in the southwest!
Pretty much my thoughts exactly, at one point. I was going to use a 1 by 1 on the other side of the pinch weld to add bit of stability. A buddy of mine said that a L Channel would probably work just as well and be cheaper. I think I'm going to end up combining all the ideas with that on mine. I'm going to use the L Channel on the inside of the pinch weld, but flip it upside down so the flat part is at the bottom of the pinch weld. That way I have a 1 inch piece to weld a crossmember up to the frame rail. I want to make sure I can still fit a farm jack underneath it to lift the entire side of the vehicle. I want this sucker to be super strong! I will only end up losing about 1 inch of ground clearance. And, I'm okay with that.
