Roof Rack Silver Pins

So I took my roof racks off when I first got my Jeep since I've never had the chance to use them. Well it just so happens I'm going on vacation and need them now. I have all the hardware except for the silver pins. Does anyone know where I can find them, or what I can use as an alternative?

Re: Roof Rack Silver Pins

Why did you remove the pins? There are easier ways to remove the roof rack.

Re: Roof Rack Silver Pins

cut that out kyle i was just breakin them on ya bro ! I should have added the LOL.

we need to make a good how to.....my pins were not grabbable so i had to do it the OTHER WAY where you drop that inner part then get them on a angle and remove the end........ then i said not again and I drilled out both sides of where the pin lives so i can grab it no matter what. IMOthe pin is the EASIEST way.

gl op

Re: Roof Rack Silver Pins

The easiest way to do this is pop off the end caps, remove the end screws, loosen the rails and slide off moving one side a little then the other.

Trust me, after the first time i tired to remove them and all the scratches on my roof i do it this way now.

Re: Roof Rack Silver Pins

Just and FYI. I just traded my sport cross bars for a brand new set of MOPAR Factory Cross bars. The new mopar bars do not require any fiddling or disassembly to install them. The old style cross bars had that metal strap and the silver pins that went under the side rail. The new ones do not have that. They have a metal plate on the inside of the side bars that is attached to the screw knob. and a little tab that locks in to the side rails. Its 10x easier now. i will take pics. I just dont have any pics of the old style.
