Code P0700 = Trans control malfunction.
Code Uo404 = Invalid data received from control module gear shift. This means Trans Control Sys malfunctioned. I have seen two solutions. Replace the shifter bezel in the jeep (makes the most sense - replace the computer) and replace a few filters in the tranny. I did find that both of these fixes are in TSB's (Technical service bulletin) 21-016-06a and 21-007-06. I would do both actions. I am not sure if either of these are covered by the original warranty 36K / 3 Year or the 7/ 70K drivetrain. 3/36 should cover it.
Well, ever since I read the codes the check engine light has not been on anymore. Im fairly certain I didnt clear them. What could this indicate?? Ill still take it to the stealership though.
Okay, I got in there and cleaned the connection. Im assuming this is where its plugged in. The connection looked spotless, but I cleaned it anyway. I guess Ill watch it and see if anything changes.
Observations thus far:
1) Check engine light went off
2) Trasmission not shifting when it should (randomly) between 2-3k rpm
3) Sluggish start from stop. Pressing accelerator doesnt yield expected acceleration.
4) Poor gas mileage
Does this all and the codes fit into it being the shifter bezel?
