seafoam

I just put half a bottle of seafoam through my vacuum line and the other half in my gas tank.I was wondering if a full bottle in the vacuum line and a full bottle inthe has tank would be better.anybody out there that could tell me if this is a good idea?

5.7Unlimited is just really nice
Re: seafoam

You want some directly in the crankcase (where you put the oil) as well, I feel that the gas tank application is a waste of time.

Id refrain from putting it in your oil unless you are within a few hundred miles of an oil change. If you feel like it needs another treatment I would do it in half bottle increments into the vacuum line until you are happy with it.

That's how I use to do it on my old JGC...I just found it easier to do it through the vacuum line. Whatever is easier If you are going to go the TB route on a 5.7 you might as well take off the tb and clean it out.

It can get nasty!
Clean your throttle bodies!

Re: seafoam

you have to be careful with the drive by wire. if you get the liquid in the electronics it could be BAD.

Re: seafoam

On these apps its best to add the seafoam either through the crankcase or though the fuel system, because all of these engines have dry manifolds, alot of times the seafoam will pool in the bottom of the intake manifold and not be evenly distributed amongst the cylinders.

I wouldn't. Why would you want the crap that you just removed from internal passages, etc to be cycled around some more to be potentially left somewheres else? Do I think it is harmful? Not necessarily, but I wouldnt do it, as I feel it would nullify the benefits.

I cant see how. I've put over 1/2 in mine and it was fine. When you get towards the end try & stall it out by pouring the last bit in fast. then let it sit 5 min or so and start er up! MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS,GARAGE ETC! you dont want the smoke inside And there should be alot
