Skid plate for transfer case

Im looking into the skid plate for the transfer case on my 2007 Grand cherokee 4.7 with QT2. Part number: 82208712. On justforjeeps.com it says that i need to have the gas tank skid plate also for proper installation. Is there any way to make the Skid plate work for the transfer case without the Fuel tank skid plate?

Re: Skid plate for transfer case

I think one holds the other in place and the gas tank needs to be dropped to get the two installed. It's the front skid plate that is the easiest to install. I too would like some protection.. don't want my Jeep to get any diseases.

Check out 4XGuard's stuff too.

I'm hopefully going to be getting the 4XGuard front skid in the next few months.

Re: Skid plate for transfer case

I have the factory skid plates that came with my WK. Had I not got those, I'd get the 4xguard ones.

Glad the Overland come with skids. I put them to use in the big snow we had a few weeks ago.

^^ You put them on? Can you confirm that the gas tank needs to be dropped?
