Where can I find the kicker upgrade btw? Does it come all together? or just have to pick up the 6 different speakers?
This site has some stuff or Google Kicker for GC.

Re: Speaker Upgrade

For the Kicker amp upgrade, is it plug and play? I have the BA system in my Limited - might be worth the extra money to have it PnP instead of trying to piece everything together.

Also, in the factory BA system, are there any crossovers in the system? Just curious because above it is mentioned to replace the 3.5 with tweets, but if there are no crossovers currently being used you will need to get some (or bass blockers) for the tweets.

Re: Speaker Upgrade

buy my Factory Boston setup out of my SRT8!!!

I have the factory amp and all 6 speakers!!

Sounded great, the only reason I replaced in the first place was because I had a full custom JL setup collecting dust in the garage

Re: Speaker Upgrade

PS

Im not a fan of running aftermarket speakers off of a factory head unit

you will get half the sound!

factory uses 2 ohms

99% of aftermarket full range speakers run at 4 ohms

this simply equates to half power!!!

so if your factory head unit is running 50 watts x 4.....you will actually be getting only 25 watts x 4 to your new 4 ohm speakers

if you dont want to mess with harnesses, adapters, dash kits, headunits, new amps, etc

just upgrade to the Kicker or BA factory system........especially if your main motivation is NOT to rattle the block with bass

Re: Speaker Upgrade

So, I was looking at the Justforjeeps website.

This is what i came up with:

Amp:http://www.justforjeeps.com/kiamup8.html

Speakers:Front:http://www.justforjeeps.com/kifr6x9sp7.html

Rear:http://www.justforjeeps.com/kire62sp.html

Front:3.5: I was told that I should get tweeters? Anyone have any ideas on if i should get tweeters or should I just get http://www.justforjeeps.com/kifr6x9sp3tw.html for the fronts and tweeters?

And if I do get the tweeters I was told to get bass blockers for them. How do they hook up and which ones would I need?

This Amp would just be plug and play correct? And the speakers will give a little more bass to the sound system correct?

Re: Speaker Upgrade

thats almost 500 bucks for like 50 to 100 extra watts over the BA system right?

you could have all of my stuff for 80 and it will be 90% as loud and good!!!!!!!

food for thought

Re: Speaker Upgrade

When I receive the amp, do I use the bracket on the stock amp?

Also, I was thinking of using peel and seal, where should I find this at?
