Any one know how to fit SRT coil covers on a 5.7 I just got a set, trying to get them on...they don't just plug on

You will have to either cut off the old ball studs that held on the 5.7 cover or get new fuel rail bolts as seen here.

Then you will have to get the ball studs that attach to the valve cover studs. Part # Ball Studs 06507366AA

You can barely see the new ball studs in this pic but they are there attached to the valve cover studs.

You will then have to trim the half covers to fit your electronics, hoses and trans tube. When all done it will look like this.

Oh Crap, and I thought they would pop right on...I didn't think the SRT heads would be that different. do you have a pn. for the fuel rail studs? the red parts in your pic with the covers on is that the coil packs? how much trimming is going to be required?
thanks for your help, Bob,

I don't have a part # for the fuel rail bolts. I just removed one at a time and cut them down.

The red parts are MSD coil packs.

The valve covers for the 5.7 and the 6.1 are the same it's the electronics, oil fill neck, breather tube and trans tube are the areas you will have to trim around...it's not to bad if you have a dremel.

Thanks Escape,
I should not have a problem with that, thanks for the info...now that the hemi cover and that giant air muffler thing are off I noticed I got some detailing to take care of as well.
all the aluminum thats now visible needs a good scrub to loose the corrosion and the loose wires to the coils could use some wire wrap.
Bob.
