Switching Tire Size

I am going to be getting new Tires, and was wondering if I will have any issues switching from the 235/65/17 tires to the 245/65/17 tires. I am assuming the they will fit just fine, but will my speedometer and stuff be affected by the change?

Re: Switching Tire Size

No problem at all. You can go even larger without any problems and the speedo only being off so little, you'll not notice at all. My 255/65/17's work fine.

Re: Switching Tire Size

my 06 limited came with 235/65r17 and i switched at 25k miles to 245/65r17. most big chain tire stores have a tool that they can reprogram your vehicle to another factory size. if not, next time it's at the dealership, have them use the starscan tool. you don't have to do anything though. your speedometer will be off by about 1.5mph... http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

Re: Switching Tire Size

Thanks for all of the help. I may go a little bigger, I will see, Just want to get something a bit better and more aggressive than the crappy mastercraft car tires that the previous owner put on it. I'm leaning towards getting Dueler A/T's from Costco.

Re: Switching Tire Size

Guys here love the Duelers. I have the General Grabber2 AT's and I'll never buy a different A/T tire. These things are great.

Re: Switching Tire Size

Duelers were out of stock for the next 3-4 weeks, Bridgestone is supposedly starting up production again next week. I ended up getting Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors for only $169 each installed plus a $40 rebate. Happy with them so far.

Re: Switching Tire Size

Silent Armors are nice tires... I may look into them myself. BUT in 265/70/17
