I love that Jeep, welcome!

Have you made much use of the winch?

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

Thanks! I've run the winch a few times to re-wrap the cable, and one time i wrapped it around a light pole in my parking lot, and pulled the truck about 20 feet just to see it happen.

Hopefully I'll never actually need it.

Haha .. I could picture that .. driving up 101 and then seeing some WK tied to a light pole.

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

If you'd like to really use that Mojave edition, plan on coming out to Moab in June where we'll be have the 13th Annual Grand Slam West.

I remember seeing your WK (driven by AEV folks) at GSW several years ago.

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

Moab, huh...sounds good. I'll look into it. Man I tell ya, I knew what this WK was capable of when I got it, but I had no idea it had left such an impression on the Jeep/off-road community.

I'll post tire sizes after I come back from lunch. The wheels themselves are the stock 17", but they've been painted Viper Steel Grey...same color used on the roof wrack, rock bars, door trim and all the interior bezels (one on each door, and the center console/gear shift area.).

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

Sweet rig dude, What does the engine emblem say on the back? it looks like it says M.7. Is it a 4.7L Laredo or a swapped in 5.7 or 3.7? I know AEV did 5.7 swaps on other jeeps and the laredo did not come with a hemi just the 4.7 and 3.7L.

Hey Kyle, yea it says 5.7...strange how the picture doesn't quite show it. You only have to hear it start once to know though...

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

Ok cool. So AEV must have swapped the 5.7 in then.

Re: THE AEV Mojave Edition WK

No, I bought it just as you see it. AEV ordered it from Jeep (2005 Cherokee Limited) and the 5.7 Hemi was an option on the 2005's. They had Superlifts do the prototype suspension (which is now the package you can buy from them), installed the winch, 1-off roof wrack, 1-off rock bars which look like the original trim from a distance, painted all those things and the wheels that same dark grey. Then they took it to SEMA, and put about 15k on it over the next year doing demos and stuff, then they had it up for sale (quietly) and a friend of mine recommended I talk to these guys, when I told him I was lookin for a Cherokee. Talked to the owner of AEV, found out about this thing, made a deal, and it showed up on a transport truck couple months later.
