Re: The big debate "window tints" 5% v.s. 20%

I had 5% on a Porsche 928 years ago. The thing was undrivable at night.

I think 20 is nice, not too extreme.

Legal here in Oz is 35, but all us cool kids run 20 regardless. 5 is just asking for trouble, I only ran it in the 928 because I didn't wanna be seen driving such an outrageous bucket of shit.

Re: The big debate "window tints" 5% v.s. 20%

I did 5% over factory on the rear sides 20% on fronts and 20% over the rear so I can see out the back at night, the sides are near impossible to see in or out. My other car is tinted 5% in the back and 20% up front, catches attention from the 5-0 and is hard still to see out of.

I feel like doing 30% on the windshield would make it really hard to see. I was thinking 50% but I'd like to ride/drive in a car that has it before I make the leap. Also cops here would probably stop me for windshield tint.

If the tint is dark enough the cop may be to scared to pull you over because they have no idea what can be inside the car.

Re: The big debate "window tints" 5% v.s. 20%

If you are looking for the best mach with the stock tint then get 3M 15% and then wont have to tint the back 5 windows, saves you alot. The olny other way to go is blacked out get 5%. Got to have um all lookin the same. Looks bad when the front doesnt mach the rest.

Re: The big debate "window tints" 5% v.s. 20%

by the way 7 tint tickets for 5 and 15% got to do it tho. cops around here are really bad NC law only lets you have 35 the farther south you are the lesser tint % allowed

Not sure where you're from, but the citation in Florida doesn't put points on your drivers license. So if you have to pay a $120 ticket every once in a while, does it really matter? Think of it as a tax you have to pay to have badass window tint on your vehicle... well worth it imo.

I live in Virginia and I tend to agree but I don't always have an extra $120 lying around what with being 18 and all. Should probably start a ticket fund though...*knock on wood*
