Re: Theft

Years ago here at the dealership I work at after a weekend we would come to work on Monday morning to find half of the radios ripped out of the new cars on our back lot. I always wanted to mount an explosive device behind the radio of one of the cars and let the low life a** rip it out. That would be the last radio that he would steal. When that hit the news most of the radio thieft would stop. That is my form of antitheft device!!!

Re: Theft

Sorry dude, insurance will get yea but hopefully your deductible isnt to much :/
Some people do suck, I hate thieves like everyone, but I do also see the otherside of why people steal.

Its a pretty ****ed up world we live in where people gotta steal to eat sometimes but still no excuse in my mind. Much more honest ways to get by, some people just dont have any integrity or morals left

I agree though wheels were definite reasons why it may have occurred, dude saw flashy and figured must have a system, peeked through the tint and bingo! You have an alarm? If its OEM Id get a Viper 5901 or better ASAP, may have prevented this or at least alerted you and you may have caught him?

For the record, how does the stock security system work? What triggers it, etc.?

Re: Theft

yeah well apparently the navigation systems have around a $1,000 street value. I dont have to pay a deductible and my rental is covered too, its just annoying having to deal with all of this. I did change my 'guide me home' address a few months ago and i recommend anyone who has a navigation system to set it to the nearest police station because the only reason i use my navigation is to get me to the area that i already know. fortunately i lock my glovebox with my radar and itouch they tried to pry that open but couldnt do it in a timely fashion so they left that alone

Re: Theft

sorry about the theft, I just had my vehicle broken into 4 weeks ago. They took everything that was worth something, even took my Jeep manual! Bastards. Insurance wont cover anything unless its part of the Jeep (glass, radio, seats and airbags), personal items are under Home insurance (ipod, GPS, computers etc). Good luck.

Re: Theft

Over the weekend here in KY...thieves stole 8 sets of GMC Denali and Chevt 20" trucks wheels/tires from a dealer in locally. They left NEW SUV's and trucks setting on blocks....

That is the most ridiculous statement I've ever read.... So let me get this straight, If you have a upgraded stereo and custom wheels you're a child?

Way to contribute to the thread!

I suggest you upgrade your alarm system with a 2-way Viper. Your Jeep should look exactly how you want it to look. Big wheels attract attention, it's a fact. Be prepared for thieves with a proper alarm system. How nice would it be to walk out and catch them in the act because your remote notified you of a break in.

Re: Theft

damn dude sorry to hear that

i agree with the above statement tho
get a 2-way alarm, one with an LCD screen so u can see whats happening

if u get a 1-way then u just have to listen for the alarm which is a pain

u can even get a viper alarm with sensory alert for if ppl get to close or reach in an open window etc.

Yes, in most cases, aftermarket wheels attract more attention than factory wheels and so do loud sound systems.

And me saying that, "I guess I grew up." had nothing to do with the OP but had everything to do with me and my priorities.

Ride around in my old neighborhood with aftermarket wheels and a loud sound system.......

OP, it's a shame that people who work hard for their belongings have to worry about theft. I know; I'm a victim.
