Re: They Killed My PCM !

yea I'm confused, you want to actually keep going to the fake dealer that lied to you? If that's your question the answer is hell no don't go back, they intentionally misrepresented themselves and you suffered as a result. Go back to the REAL dealer and get the flashes done. Those pcms do have a tendency to lock up when being flashed, but generally if that happens the dealer will replace the pcm for you. Couple of clarifications from posts above.
1. You cannot get a new pcm, they are all remanufactured and still warrantied so dont sweat it. Essentially they are new internals just a reused metal housing.
2.THey don't come blank, they come with a base platform(ie charger and 300 share the same platform) setup, the dealer just has to program them to your specific vin. So 3. As pointed out above they will automatically flash it up to the latest and greatest, so really you actually come out ahead if they toast your pcm.
4. As far as warranty on the new one it will come with whichever is greater; a 12/12 or the remainder of your emissions warranty.

Driving it around without getting the updates done has the potential to cause mechanical damage(especially if you are experiencing the symptoms of why the flash was released). My advise, if you would like to continue to enjoy your jeep for many years, is to follow through and get your pcm flashed/repaired/fixed

Angry Re: They Killed My PCM !

guys -- in my earlier post 2nd paprgraph I said "I went back in Wednesday for them" 'THEM' is the REAL dealership. The dealership that lied to me is in some serious trouble. Chrysler is all over them!! They are getting reamed- and I mean REAMED!!!!

Well, The 'real' Chrysler dealership ended up giving me a brand new PCM! not a refurbished - A new one. I went down and talked to the mechanic - right when he started pulling the old one. We took it out of the box and checked the part # for new or refurbished - It was new.

He installed it, then downloaded it and so I got in to go to work after signing the paperwork, well, guess what came back on --> 'Service 4wd System'

I posted this in another post yesterday asking Why after getting a new PCM - Why would the code still be there??
The post is...

**** Got NEW PCM today - Or did I? Code still there. ****

Look it up guys there's some good info there.

KNOW WHY? BECAUSE THEY FLASHED AND REPAIRED THE WRONG CONTROL MODULE
it should have been the Final Drive Control Module (FDCM)

What is wrong with people?? All that time & effort.

So what do I do?

Re: They Killed My PCM !

Might it actually be possible you're having a legitimate problem with the FDCM?

Re: They Killed My PCM !

I see a lot of people start posts here and don't finish. The 4wd service light you all are getting sounds an awful lot like the rear axle actuator solenoid and wiring harness need to be replaced. Always work backwards from the problem. Don't go straight to the device throwing the error and say, that's the problem.. The solenoid and wire harness are super cheap too.. Here's a dude that posted an awesome video on it..

Re: They Killed My PCM !

WOW what a great video. - My service 4wd light is still on. It used to be that "when starting my jeep" I could turn the key real slow or use the remote start and the warning would not come on at all. -

However, Since about two or three mnths ago the servic 4wd comes on no matter what. every time I start it no matter how I strt it. I think I have multiple problems. (I know I do but for now I'm talking about the jeep)

The service 4wd lamp can be for many reasons. There is an actuator and harness in the front diff too. Also any transfer case issues or 4wd low switch fault... The rear diff solenoid is just one o many causes.
