Three questions because I trust you guys...

Hi there... I was hoping to get things squared away on my CRD with these three questions. You see... mod fever is beginning to take hold, much like it did when I had my Charger...

(1) - Went to the dealership today They said I would have to buy an entire SRT8 grille as the mesh is not avl by itself. $400.00 CDN. I saw the SRT mesh (not race mesh) on line somewhere but I can't remember where. Is it true that I have to buy an entire grille?

(2) - Does installing staggered wheels negative affect the quadra-trac in a non SRT (mine is a Laredo) and.....

(3) - Will a staggered wheel set up negatively affect towing? I ask as an after market retail outlet here in town indicated that may happen.

I thought you guys know more than anyone.... What do you think? Your assistance and comments are much appreciated.

Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

1) You can't buy the mesh by itself - you have to buy the whole grill and separate.

2) No

3) Not that I know of.

5.7Unlimited is just really nice
Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

Since you have to buy the entire grill check out car-part.com for better deals, even with shipping to calgary it should be cheaper than dealer price.

Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

as long as the tire height is the same with the staggered wheels, then you wont have a problem......you have to buy the whole grille....depending on what tires you run, it could lower the towing rating..

Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

yep....just keep the wheels/tires pretty close to the same diameter as stock(which the SRT wheels are for example) and you'll be fine with the awd system.

As far as towing....it depends on how close you are to the towing capacity. But its gonna be harder on performance tires than the stock tires.

There are so many fallacies told by people that have no idea what they are talking about.,.....mostly dealers!

LMAO. Scott you are too funny re the fallacies.... . I tow mostly the bikes.... (scales says with trailer-close to 2500 lbs) so not even close to the 7200 lb capacity.

Agreed... I'd say 90% of dealers out there have no clue.

When I was taking my Jeep on a test drive... the dude told me the Hemi has 400HP and that QDII was the best SUSPENSION system I could get. The guy was clueless.

Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

Thanks fellas... I think for ease of installation, I will probably go with the reps Although the combo black and chrome lip on the boss 33? has me drooling too... See, told ya mod fever was gripping me! Thanks again... and still....... now of course I hafta figure out black or chrome for the reps... aaaaaargh... I think I will stagger them as the look is definitely cool. One last question... (sure he says) Is the mesh on the overland Grill the same as the SRT8?

Re: Three questions because I trust you guys...

Overland grill and the SRT8 Grill have the same mesh.

Just that the overland comes in a brush aluminum finish while the SRT8 grill comes painted.

Overland

SRT8
