Hey there everyone, I was just wondering if anyone here has any opinions on roof racks...

I snowboard and im tired of lugging around both mine and my girlfriends snowboards inside my WK... With all the gear its hard to fit more than 3 people in my truck on any trips.... Plus my edges are starting scratch up the inside...

So i'm looking at picking up either a Yakima or Thule rack system that can fit up to 4 boards... anyone have any thoughts they would like to share or some pics ??

Thanks Man, Yea i borrowed my friends thule racks...i could only fit 1 board on it though without taking off the bindings.... Does your rack use the big beefy clamps that locks onto the factory crossbars?

I could fit 2 only if i took 1 set of the bindgs off and flipped them wax side to wax side....

Think it was like $125 from the Thule website. If I fold over my bindings I can 2 up there just fine. Very good quality and great price. Locks and everything. Don't have Yakima racks to compare but I'm happy with the Thule.

EDIT - Mine's 2 board fyi.

Sup bud,

A buddy of mine used to have the Yakima Rack on his Altima till he wrecked it. Personally I think it seemed alot cheaper/flimsier than the thule that I own today... so much that he offered them to me and i declined and picked up this setup.

I replaced the stock crossbars with the Thule ones ($260 with bars I believe)
And then purchased the sliding 4 board rack ($199) to go ontop of them.

As you can see there is plenty of room for 4 boards(belly to belly) with the new cross bars.

Good luck with your purchase, I highly recommend the thule
