Question ticking noise when cold

so my jeep has been making a ticking noise when its cold and under light acceleration until it gets warmed up. i had a mechanic look at it and found out its the exhaust manifold bolts so i need new exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts. anyone else had this problem ?

Re: ticking noise when cold

Do you have the 4.7L V8? If so that's a common problem!

Re: ticking noise when cold

I have this same problem in mine and it only happens when its cold out, my mechanic told me my manifold is fine, just my bolts and gaskets are bad so im not worried about fixing it since its not a major problem

Re: ticking noise when cold

I would wait and see how Scott's headers turn out! He has some coming in that hopefully work on his 4.7. It would probably run you the same $ and have a better sound/more performance if you already have an exhaust
