Tow Package

I just got a 05 4.7 and I don't need the tow package. What shall I do? Take it off and sell it? Keep it? The bumper might look weird without it.

Re: Tow Package

Why would you want to uninstall the tow package? Do you not like the looks of it? I think you may be spending too much time uninstalling it and I doubt that you will make much profit selling it. And what if you decide to sell your car or trade it? A missing tow package does not inflate the value of the vehicle...on the contrary. If you simply do not like the aesthetics of the hitch, then my advice is to buy a rear bumper guard that will partially cover it up but in addition protect your bumper. And you really never know when being able to tow something can come in handy. Just my 2 cents

Re: Tow Package

Ok thank you. Those are good points. I will look into some ways to cover it up.

Even if you don't pull a trailer they're nice to have. Hitch mounted bike racks, carriers, etc., add a lot of utility. And you never know when your needs will change..

I can't believe I forgot about that function as well ! That is in fact the primary duty of my trailer hitch - thanks for reminding me that I need to go riding the bike again lol

Re: Tow Package

Maybe I will buy a Jet Ski or a small fishing boat.? The only reason it bugs me is that I want my Jeep to be tough for Winters and Street for summers and I prefer the street look.
