Towing with SRT springs

I have not yet installed the SRT springs on my 05 limited hemi with tow package. I want to but im nervous about towing. I have an 18 foot speed boat that weights 2650 lbs with the trailer. The SRT8 is rated at 3500lbs max towing but Im just wondering how bad 2650lbs would be. Am I going to be sitting on the bump stops in the rear? How bad of a ride will it be? Has anyone had experience towing with these springs?

Re: Towing with SRT springs

I believe the tow rating for the SRT's is based on the hitch, rather than the springs. I have SRT suspension (sways and lowering springs) under my 06 GCO and I can tell you that the ride is firmer and much more stable than with the stock suspension. I also have the SRT bumpers and I had the stock hitch refitted to fit with the deeper SRT rear bumper. I've towed well over 2500 lbs. with it and it's like it isn't even there. I say go for it, but I would also recommend the sways to go along with it.
