Re: Tpms

Go to any legit jeep dealership or tire shop. They will tell you the same thing. its part of the vehicles safety systems and cannot be removed by a shop legally. Even the shop that said they would take them off and put in reg valves backed out once the jeep was there, claiming that that employee was mis informed.

Every tire shop i went to yesterday to get my new wheels put on said they would not do it w/o 4 functioning sensors so i have an appt to get the wheels done and sensors fixed at the dealership this saturday morning. Such BS but its what i had to deal with yesterday.

Re: Tpms

I just called three tire shops about it, Town Fair Tire, NTB and Sears, they all said they would install new tires with regular valve stems for me. I told them I have a Grand Cherokee with the TPMS basic sytem in it and they arent functioning and i cant afford new ones at this time, they said thats fine.

Thats such a bunch of crap they are telling you. On my previous GC I blew out one tire, it was a special order, when it finally came in at Townfair tire I went down and told the kid at the counter I know the tires on are directional but i want the white lettering INSIDE, he said sure no problem. Well when my car was done I walked out and the new tire was mounted with the white lettering outside, when the other three have them facing inside and all black on the outside. It looked rediculous and it blew my mind they would F-ing do that. How dumb does that look, one white lettering tire on and the rest all black??? I went right back in, told the kid im pissed and want it changed around. He actually wrote up a disclaimer thing saying the tire is directional and I instructed them to mount it going to "wrong" way. I signed the hand written thing he wrote and had it changed.

Re: Tpms

in some countries its the law, the discussion is it will become law here too.

but you are correct for the moment timmy.

last thought, a dealer will NEVER disable a safety feature as your LAWYER may come back and point fingers if anything ever happened.
