TPMS part numbers.

I need new TPMS sensors before i get my tires in the next few months. I have the old ones. One is very new and re usable the other 4 are original. I assume i can just get the same part number as the new one to replace the others that are bad. BUT i was wondering, is there any way to upgrade from the base tpms system to the system that tells you which tire is low? Does that require a different sensor or a change in the computer or both?

Is it worth the convenience of knowing which tire is low when the light turns on?

Re: TPMS part numbers.

I looked into upgrading to the newer TPMS system. but apparently it's not possible without major work. which sucks ass.

IIRC on wkjeeps.com it mentions a blurb about upgrading.

Re: TPMS part numbers.

so I am getting ready to buy a set of aftermarket wheels off an 09 SRT8...they already have the TPMS in them. Will the 09 sensors be compatible with my 2008 WK? I know I know I do not have the part #'s of the ones on the SRT8 so it may be a loaded question. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

EDIT

It appears these will fit??? This is off j4j.com - since the SRT8 is not designated and it says 08-10 seems like they will work no prob?

Re: TPMS part numbers.

So one more question...do the sensors automatically talk to the car, or do I need to reset the negative battery terminal or some other method?

So yours just all of the sudden worked and displayed after 4 days? And how do u change the frequencies?

Re: TPMS part numbers.

I have the same setup as Relwarc, 09 wrangler sahara TPMS and mine synced up no problem on their own. Had to drive down the road about a mile or so but then everything was good to go and they update as they should, displaying the pressure and everything. I didn't have to do anything special except put the wheels on!

Just a little side note... I have an 06 and it seems that it takes a little longer to sync up to the newer sensors, because when I swap back to my winter setup with the original 06 sensors it syncs up right away. Since you have an 08, I would expect everything to work without any troubles right away!!

Re: TPMS part numbers.

seeing as Jeep put metal on metal causing most peopls TPMS valve to corrode, would Jeep then replace them free of charge?

I need to book my jeep for a service soon, and wondered if i had any hope of achieving this

Has anyone else had this problem of corrosion? Mine seem to be ok...but I don't get any salt on the roads here
