Train horn setup - anyone done this?

Have any of you guys installed a train horn on your WK (www.hornblasters.com type?) and if so do you have pix of the install and compressor location, opinions on them, etc? Regular horns don't cut it here in FL.

Thanks for the input

That looks so sick, I was watching the videos that they have how they terrorize people. One of those would be great here in NJ with all the New Yorkers down for the summer. I just can't justify spending that type of money for a horn.

I'm gonna do this soon too. Not just for the horn alone. Compressor will be nice n snug under the frame out of reach of rocks n what-not. I'm going to have a 2.5g air tank in the cargo area (building a box to hide it and keep a quick latch and all the tow straps n sheeyat.

Re: Train horn setup - anyone done this?

I had one on my vehicle about 9 years ago, before they were illegal to have. It was lots of fun... just not when you accidentally set off your car alarm. Anyhow, if you install one, I'd recommend adding a switch so you can go back and forth from your stock horn to that one. That way if you get pulled over for it, you can switch back to your factory horn and try to deny it. Also, make sure you get a large tank because those horns will move air pretty fast... you only get 2-10 seconds worth of blow time before the compressor has to refill the tank.

I looked into it for the WK, but I didn't want to customize it or remove my spare tire, so I went with the easier and cheaper option of the Chrome Dual-Tone Motorcycle Air Horn that he sells on hornblasters.com. It's nice and gets the point across, but you won't be making anybody need a change of underwear.

EDIT: I'm not positive, but I think this was the one I had (it looks the same) and it was more than you'd ever need/want: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AIR-H...Q5fAccessories

EDIT AGAIN: Those guys are local to Tampa, so if you wanted to hear a couple of them before purchasing, you could go and check it out.

Re: Train horn setup - anyone done this?

yea theyre right around here, I'd probably have them do the install too to save me the trouble.

I'll be adding a second switch solely for the air horn and keeping the stock horn intact as is.

Re: Train horn setup - anyone done this?

I was driving my buddy's truck and he has one on his GMC. I got pulled over and got a $300 fine. Just watch where you use it.
