Re: tranny delay

It's just getting warmed up.. mine does that too, no issues. Let the Jeep warm up for at least 30 seconds to get the fluids flowing.

Re: tranny delay

I have an 05 limited with a hemi that does the same thing intermittenly, after it has sat a while. I don't worry too much about it as, like yours, the transmission operates and shifts as it should all other times.

Re: tranny delay

I am personally against stop leaks... I have tried a couple head gaskets in a bottle both times total failure (for no reason other than I didnt want to deal with doing a head gasket, one I still had to do the other was for an uncle whom will be donating the car). furthermore it has reduced the heat transfer over my heater core so it never gets hot in the vehicle just reaches warm in about 30+/- min of driving.

yes a rear main is alot of money to have repaired. Because of the cost I would agree, your fine so long as your not dumping, if its not leaving drips on the ground your just fine.

Also I was told by another tech the other day he has actually had what he figured to be oil galley plugs for the mds that are on the back of the engine leak.

When it starts dumping pay for it to get fixed right, until then get your oil changed at 3k mile and monitor it at least once every 1500 miles.

I dont know what year WK you have but I had the exact same issue. There is a TSB for this and it is due to a crappy return filter in the trans. I doubt you will wreck anything or have any long term problems. I had this fixed a while ago, however, and no longer have any problems.

Yes the split filter is a possibility, it may also be low fluid too. park on a level surface, trans in neutral, and check the dipstick.
