I've got both filters and some fluid sitting in my garage, I'll have to get to this soon.

About how much fluid do we lose when dropping the pan? So I know how much splash I can expect and how much fluid I'll need.
I'd recommend putting down a bunch of towels/rags around whatever you are going to collect the fluid in. What I did was loosen all the bolts on the pan just a little bit, then I loosened the bolts around the corner of the pan that is facing the rear drivers side. I dropped just that corner and let as much of the fluid drain out that I could. There is still gonna be a decent amount of fluid left in the bottom of the pan though.

If you can get a helper, have someone hold the pan in place while you unbolt the whole thing, and then have your helper lower it slowly down evenly so the fluid doesn't spill. Then once you get it down you can dump it into whatever.

And as for how much fluid to replace - it's seems to be a case by case basis. I started out by adding 6.5 quarts I think and it didn't even touch the dipstick. I think after all was said and done I ended up adding somewhere between 8 and 9 quarts. You might require less being 2WD though. Service schedule states that a service fill is 5.5 quarts, so I'd start there and add as needed.

Re: Transmission Flush?

PCM was updated, TCM reset, and AUTO TILT Mirrors are mine!!! Actually i didnt try them out yet but the mechanic said they were working. On a side not they had 14 vipers there. 13 were all ACR's, each different color and graphics, was pretty cool to see them all inside at the same time. Transmission feels a bit more normal now after the reset, im sure after a few days it'll all even out

Not myself but like I said before a friend of mine is a Jeep tech and I have seen first hand with the SRT Jeeps how abused the fluid gets in the first 7k miles of the vehicle's life. Most of the time they all look like shit, and will have to get replace. After that all you have to do is check all fluids every 7-10k and if need be, replace.

If you dont believe me, ask Mario. I'm not bullshitting you.

God any ****ing time I say something, I get the BS comment. Go use the BS comment on all of Irf's posts, it will be applicable.

(Now anyone can insert the UMad? gif)
