Re: Transmission Flush?

I would get the filter changed and have it flushed. Dropping the pan and refilling doesnt get the fluid out of the torque converter. A flush with a t-tech machine will exchange it all. I dont care what they say, its like changing half your oil. I did install the sonnex transmission line pressure booster and i noticed a huge difference in all around throttle and especially under load. It shifts more firmly and a whole lot quicker. The sluggishness is gone with this installed. The pressure sensor is on the passanger side up front, simple plug and play install.

Apples and oranges. For starters, a transmission doesn't suck in outside air/dirt like an engine does. Flushing your tranny is unnecessary and a total waste of money.

Re: Transmission Flush?

Actually, that's what I was referring to, but didn't have it in writing. Oral advice from dealer.
My differentials and transfer case fluids did not look bad after ~40K miles. Probably could have gone the full 60K miles without problem. I too suffer from the "new machinery" anxiety syndrome. Will do transmission drain & filters at 60K miles. I have no symptoms to suggest otherwise.

Re: Transmission Flush?

I called my local dealer today to get quotes for axle/tcase fluid change and tranny filters(both) without flush. He asked me 3 times "without flush?", then said he'd have to call me back because he's not sure they even offer that...
He also said it's like changing half you oil...
So $220 for the tcase/axles and we'll see what they say about the tranny.
Should I stick to this no flush angle?

Re: Transmission Flush?

I'm not saying that I have more knowledge than Milous. All I said is to have your SRT's fluids checked after the first 7k miles because they have the chance to be black. Ask Mario about how his fluids looked at 7k miles. The fluid in the diffs and t-case seem to get worn out real quickly after the first 7k miles of the vehicles life. And in some cases even after the initial change, the fluid in the t-case will turn black again in another 6-7k miles. Go ask Razorecko on the red site. I'm not disagreeing with Milous, I was simply stating my opinion on what I have seen first hand. Hop off my dick Irf. Go use some ONR for a smoothie.
