Transmission/RPM Issue????

So I added a new set of tires last week.. a 255/75/17 from a 265/70/17. Ever since the transmission has be acting really strange.

First, when coming from a stop, the rpms rev up to around 2300 before the jeep starts to move. Then it is sluggish and seems to not want to shift to the next gear. The RPMs stay high and then it finally shifts down. At around 40 mph it seemed to be in the wrong gear and the rpms were up pretty high. It just wouldn't drop down to the next gear.

Second weird issue is that the auto stick doesn't work???? Tried to "down shift" and it doesn't let you. It doesn't do anything. Pulled over, turned the car off and let it sit for a few. When I restarted the auto stick work fine for a few and then went back to not working.

There are no warning lights/codes on the dash either.

Anyone had this happen or have any clue what might be going on?????

Re: Transmission/RPM Issue????

sounds like the transmission is in limp in... the TCM codes would need to be pulled to have any idea whats going on... I would not drive on it alot before you get it looked at!

maybe the shifter module is failing (common) causing a communication code (likely U0404). I am just crapping that suggestion, its a shot in the dark.

Was thinking it might be the TCM or shifter module... She is going in today to see if they can pull any codes.

Thanks.
