Transmission Temp Over

I've Grand Cherokee 2007 3.7L , I was climbing a hill and the temperature outside was over 115, almost after 30 minutes of climbing I got (Transmission Temp Over), I pulled over immediately and saw the transmission oil leaking through the transmission ventilation valve under hood, I lost almost half of the transmission oil!! Anyone can help please??

Re: Transmission Temp Over

The grommet seal could have been bad previously and water from AC condensation or crossing high water could have leaked in there causing the fluid to operate at higher temperatures.

My seal was bad and a old old old friend of mine said that EVERY Chrysler product he has owned, this guy is old so he has owned a lot, has had bad seals on the transmissions that needed to be replaces.

Re: Transmission Temp Over

Sounds like your vehicle did it's job telling you that it was being overworked, and you did your job pulling over to prevent damage. Not sure exactly where the "underhood ventilation valve" is, but it is pretty unlikely that you lost 1/2 of your tranny fluid out of a breather. That is unless your vehicle was upside down. Was it a cooling line perhaps?
