The grommet seal could have been bad previously and water from AC condensation or crossing high water could have leaked in there causing the fluid to operate at higher temperatures.
My seal was bad and a old old old friend of mine said that EVERY Chrysler product he has owned, this guy is old so he has owned a lot, has had bad seals on the transmissions that needed to be replaces.
