Question Tread depth front and rear - its different

Just gone over the WK with a fine toothcomb

Couple of issue's, bonnet (hood) will not stay up on own (gas strut)

Rear tyres have 8mm tread, front are 5mm o/s and 3mm n/s

Can the Quadra Trac 11 cope with this difference?

Tyres are Goodyear Wrangler HP A/W 245/65 R17H

Don't want to damage the drivetrain.......

Re: Tread depth front and rear - its different

new gas strut is abou $13 from the dealer

tires will be fine....the drivetrain isnt that sensitive. I have 20x9's on the front and 20x10's on the rear for over 2 yrs with no problems

it is funny that all your tirres have different thread though. Have the alignment checked and look into a matching set just for safetys sake.

I think the last owner/garage I brought it from put a pair of new on the rear and whatever they could find for the front

I have located a pair of matching Goodyear Wrangler HP AW tyres with the same tread depth as the rear which I will get fitted and have the alignment checked

Looking at the spare, there may well be an issue!

Dont like the Goodyears, but the price is right

Re: Tread depth front and rear - its different

good deal! The mismatched tread depth tires wont hurt anything....but them being different is crazy!

Unless you get get Father Xmas to put it on his sleigh and drop it off as he passes over the UK, I think the shipping would be more than the value of the tire

Thanks for the thought though!!
