Various Symptoms 07 WK 3.7L

So when my 07 3.7L JGC gets warm (by warm I mean having been driven for at least a half hour) and I shut off the motor (go inside a store, run errand, etc...) then return within a half hour or so and go to crank again the following happens:

1. Continued cranking noises (even when I am not turning the key) almost as if I have a bad starter (starter replaced 1275 miles ago)
2. "Transmission Over Temp" message pops up on instrument panel message board
3. Sometimes I can turn the key off and the very next attempt the engine cranks just fine. Then sometimes I have to try it 2-3 times before it finally turns over.

I have read a few forums and have just received a CRANKSHAFT and CAMSHAFT Position Sensors (not sure if this has anything to do with it, but a couple forums people have said that those should be replaced at least 100,000 and mine us at 148,XXX)

Any advice from the experts?

Thanks in advance for all advice, it will be greatly appreciated.

Have you had any luck with trouble shooting? My Jeep is doing the same except I can't get it to crank at all. I see the same transmission alert on the cluster.

Cam and crank sensors have to be in sync with eachother in order for the engine to start. If one goes bad it can cause the issue your describing. They get hot and stop reading properly which will cause the no start after its warmed up
