Re: What a day...Need some help on wheels!!!

These OEM chrome clad wheels are supposed to be on the spin balancer by the lug holes and not the center hole. I've heard that they can't even get it balanced right unless doing so. It's chrome clad plastic, so they are fragile. But don't tell them that. You might have hit the jackpot with this one! Get the best wheels you can.

Re: What a day...Need some help on wheels!!!

They were on the balancer correctly, they just over tightened the spinner when they put them on. Not a big deal and they are replacing it so thumbs up to the shop, you should def say who it is, I would take my business there just because they are being so good about fixing a mistake.

Re: What a day...Need some help on wheels!!!

I will post up after everything works itself out. I am either going to go with 4 new 17" Jeep wheels or the 20" SRT8 reps if the shop will allow.

He wants me to order the OE Creation SRT8 reps but I don't think they look as good as the ones from factory repros.

By the way I should have stated in the first post. The other 3 did not completely crack like the one did in the picture but you could tell that had been smashed because the chrome clad finish is wrinkled.

thats unacceptable and they are liable to fix that. It happened to my dad, the shop coughed up the money for a brand new dodge ram rim

As you stated in your original post, the manager(owner?) said he'd replace with the factory rims or any 17-18" rim in his stock at the moment, right? Since he's most likely going to charge these as a business expense or insurance, he MIGHT(I have no clue since I was not there) be restricted to ONLY these 2 options. Factory replacements would be eaten by the business, no matter the cost, and custom rims he has in stock would be the same. For him to order a set from another manufacturer, MIGHT not be an option, since I doubt it would be covered by insurance, but...

Then you say he might OK the OE Creation Reps?

If I were you, I'd contact Factory Reps or OE Creations and get an invoice/quote of some sort, then point out to the guy in charge at the tire shop that the cost of the wheels is less than replacing the exact wheels that were damaged, and you'd be making a bigger purchase(assuming 20" tires are more expensive than the 17?" ones you were buying...).

Worth a shot, and if you don't at least try to get 20" Reps out of this, you're crazy! lol

I know that he carries this wheel....

Are you saying this is the exact same wheel that factory reproduction sells? They still look different to me and have a different offset. I think the OE Creation SRT8 wheel is the one that goes on the Charger.

Re: What a day...Need some help on wheels!!!

Good man for not stating who the company is. Good good man. Espcially after they will replace them with a wheel of your choice. They can break my wheels any day.

Good man.

I'd look into the Viper reps too. I like those a little better that the SRT reps.

Re: What a day...Need some help on wheels!!!

www.factoryreproductions.com is the site you order from.

OE is also another place. These wheels come in several different finishes.

These are 20" or 22" SRT 10 Viper Reps

These are 20" SRT8 Jeep Reps

Quite like the look of those but it is a pity they are not the right stud pattern ( 5 on 127mm )
