No. It's a 4 year old Jeep still under warranty. That is the only reason I have not gone nuclear over this. Chrysler is going to foot 100% of this bill. I'm just saying...Jeep costs more than any other ride I've ever had, including a Z06 and various imports. DO NOT! get into one unless you have money. It's nice and fun, but it does break weekly.

Re: What bolt is this in my transmission housing?!

I would not expect a leak in the bellhousing, because then it would come out from the lowest part, which is the engine to transmission cover, which has a drain hole in it. I would take that bolt out and check whats behind it. Then just use some RTV on the threads of the bolt and head and put it in.
This has nothing to do with being a jeep, but with a previous owner or mechanic who did something strange.

Re: What bolt is this in my transmission housing?!

I suspect PO did something strange also, but if dealer says it's covered, then go for it. I would.

Paranoia time: They pull everything apart and then says it's not covered because of the bolt.

Mines an 08. I have not had no where near the amount of issues uou seem to be having. And yes they are fairly reliable so smack me. Yours is a 2010. It should not have any issues on it at all. But dont blame the jeep. I have been on the forum for a few years now and your the first person to repeatedly have something break on a wk. (Not bashing you) but is it possible the previous owner beat the crap out of it?

Dealer doesn't think so.

The bold is in the bellhousing area. That is a dry area. Something must be leaking for fluid to be there. It's like finding fluid in a frame rail. The frame rail isn't the issue.

Re: What bolt is this in my transmission housing?!

Bolt did not belong.
Dealer removed it.
Front main pump seal was leaking. Failure mode random. Not related to use or abuse.
Dealer replaced it.
$175 for 5 days in a rental car while it was at the dealership. Not bad really.
